Apply for our Manager of Critical Care MICU role today!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility for planning, supervising, and evaluating the care of patients to ensure comprehensive and continuous care for each patient/family in the unit and shift of responsibility. This involves management and responsibilities for diverse categories of personnel for patient care. The Nurse Manager position requires in-depth productivity management, knowledge of management principles, communication, teaching/learning principles, nursing practice, and the ability to apply nursing theories. Acceptance of the philosophy and policies of the nursing unit and of the institution are essential. The position requires skill in interpersonal communication, group dynamics, problem solving, delegation, interviewing, observation, counseling, and teaching. The Nurse Manager must evaluate personnel, assess environment, and determine priorities for care in order to plan, implement, and evaluate outcomes of care.

You will apply nursing innovation methods, evidence based practice, and technology in collaboration with the director and as appropriate for unit of responsibility.

You will demonstrate flexibility and adapt to change and innovations in patient care delivery and will motivate staff to provide high-quality compassionate patient care.

You will collaboratively work with the service director to implement unit goals and objectives in congruence with the service goals mission and vision.

You will routinely evaluate clinical practice against the standards and patient satisfaction scores and implement creative measures to improve patient satisfaction and involves frontline staff in the process.

You will hold staff accountable for complying with safety regulations, emergency procedures, medication administration, infection control procedures, ethics and compliance, risk management activities and follow through, universal precautions, body mechanics and use of safety equipment.

What qualifications you will need:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

Bachelor of Nursing required or enrolled. Masters Degree preferred.

Valid California RN license

Current ACLS and BCLS certification

National RN Certification preferred

Minimum two years in an acute care management position

Critical Care nursing experience
