Today, FBS tools help us sustain what makes us successful. As the FBS Director, Lean, you will help transform and grow the newly established FBS Organization at ASP and drive operational excellence through continuous improvement and capability building across ASP. Acting as a key business partner to functional VPs of Operations and Quality, you will identify, lead, enable, and implement, if necessary, a roadmap of strategic priorities and critical metric improvements. You will be accountable for establishing and delivering on key projects with these functions to drive KPI improvement and build capability within those organizations. You will be responsible for driving business performance through the deployment, promotion, and execution of Fortive Business System (FBS) tools, processes, and concepts across Fortive/ASP. You will rely heavily on Lean principles and tools to drive continuous improvement, applying both the Fortive Materials System (FMS) and Fortive Reliability System (FRS) to transform outcomes. In addition to owning and implementing a handful of strategic programs, the FBS Director, Lean will also be instrumental in developing FBS capabilities and culture globally, coaching and mentoring teams to deliver higher performance broadly at ASP. Responsibilities: Here’s where you will demonstrate your competencies: Leadership:

Partner with and provide leadership to VPs and other senior leaders in determining FBS priorities and capability gaps to deliver on business objectives

Enroll others through influence, coaching, behavior modeling, and strong, consistent communication

Benchmark and communicate “Best Practices” within ASP and Fortive

Be the leader with vision and subject matter expert for Lean for ASP, ensuring the organization continues to get better at using Lean and Kaizen to achieve real business results

Driving Results:

Driving continuous improvement in quality, reliability, delivery, inventory, and cost through targeted and sustainable, data-driven initiatives

Establish and deliver key initiatives that support the organization’s top priorities, e.g. important metrics improvement, strategic project execution, and/or capability building

Coordinate, coach, or facilitate Kaizen events and develop on-site associates in Fundamentals and Lean FBS tools such as Standard Work, Visual and Daily Management, Problem Solving Process, Transactional Process Improvement, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Lean Conversion, or Customer Defect Tracking & Resolution to drive organizational change and performance.

Broadly communicate progress for all assigned improvement efforts

aShaping Culture & Building Capability:

Attract, develop, and enable FBS experts across the organization to support the achievement of business objectives using FBS

Ensure appropriate mix of FBS expertise across the organization to support long term business needs

Directly provide formal and informal FBS training and coaching

Be the lean thinking conscience of the organization. (Walk the Talk)

Exhibit and lead on the “Fortive 9” set of core behaviors: customer-obsessed, adaptable, delivers results, strategic, leads with FBS, innovates for impact, inspires, exhibits courage, and builds extraordinary teams.

Contribute to a strong culture of engagement with FBS and continuous improvement that support Fortive/ASP goals

Our Needs:

Minimum of 10 years of related professional experience with process improvement, operations, inventory management, quality processes, metrics driven improvement, or complex project management

At least 5 years driving continuous improvement priorities with sustained impact

Must have dealt with and managed large-scale change in prior roles with demonstrated positive outcomes

Business and financial acumen. Demonstrated success in thinking and acting from an enterprise perspective.

Proven ability to partner with Senior Management in figuring out priorities and building Kaizen funnels accordingly.

Demonstrated success meeting and/or exceeding metrics, driving for results, ability to work collaboratively and shift with priorities.

Experience driving execution of strategy through Policy Deployment (Hoshin Kanri)

Training and/or certification in one or more of the following: Standard Work, Visual and Daily Management, Problem Solving Process, Transactional Process Improvement, Value Stream Mapping, Lean Conversion or Fortive Material System tools. Preferred understanding of Lean FBS tools.

Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training environments

Excellent writing and administrative skills including basic digital literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, graphics)

At least a 4-year degree (Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or similar field preferred) – advanced degree desired
