Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Communications Systems Test Engineer (Level 4/5) to work in Redondo Beach, California .Seeking Senior Principal or Staff Systems Engineer to lead and support system test activities for a couple of programs. Tests include controlling Key Material, Terminals, and Payloads from CAPS for activation and checkout. Candidate will be responsible for defining and executing on-orbit testing in the protected satellite communications (SATCOM) area.Responsibilities: Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations Coordinates integrated testing activities by interfacing with internal/external team members and government customers at Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) and Test Planning Working Groups (TPWGs) Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, schedules, and test report for completing systems testing Lead test readiness reviews, and pre/post-test briefings Able to assess existing test plans and propose major and minor updates that will better achieve program goals within competing resources and constraintsBasic Qualifications: Level 4 (Senior Principal Systems Engineer)

Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering discipline and 9+ years of engineering experience OR Master's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering discipline and 7+years of engineering experience.

Must have experience in performing requirements analysis, developing/supporting test environment, integration and test, writing test plans, procedures and reports, and executing fee bearing major test milestones

Must be able to hit the ground running with test execution less than 9 months away

Candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels

Possess strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills

DoD clearance at the Secret level required. And willingness to get Top Secret.

Basic Qualifications: Level 5 (Staff Systems Engineer)

Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering discipline and 14+ years of engineering experience OR Master's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering discipline and 9+years of engineering experience.

Must have experience in performing requirements analysis, developing/supporting test environment, integration and test, writing test plans, procedures and reports, and executing fee bearing major test milestones

Must be able to hit the ground running with test execution less than 9 months away

Candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels

Possess strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills

DoD clearance at the Secret level required. And willingness to get Top Secret.

Preferred Qualifications:

MILSATCOM experience is preferred

Working with Payload and Terminals, Ground control experience is preferred but not necessary

Salary Range: $133,000 - $199,600Salary Range 2: $165,000 - $247,600The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
