Hazardous Material Technician

This position will supervise and coordinate all activities for the receipt and shipment of hazardous waste materials in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations and company policies, practices and procedures.Facilitate and conduct compliance inspections at the customer location and implement corrective actions based on results of compliance inspectionsSupervise and schedule all work activities related to receipt and shipping of wasteCoordinate incoming waste and outbound loads including managing paperworkConduct Safety Meetings to ensure that all employees comply with all job safe operating procedures including equipment maintenance.Ensure a clean and orderly work area is maintained at all times, proper chemical storage, proper labeling and handling techniques, and proper use of personal protective equipmentAct as a daily point of contact with customers and outside entitiesProvide production reports to managementSupervise the direct shipping, receiving, packaging, and processing of hazardous waste materials in compliance with standard operational procedures and regulatory requirementsSupervise sampling for waste stream identification and perform spot testing to assure safe and appropriate consolidation of waste streamsSupervise segregation, transfer and compacting procedures according to company policies, job safe practices, and quality assurance guidelines, and correct any deficienciesMaintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirementsReport and respond to plant emergencies as needed in accordance with the Contingency Plan.
