GDIT is a government contractor providing professional and technical services to various government agencies (i.e. defense). We are currently looking for a System Test Engineer to join our winning team. If hired for this position you will provide support for our government customer located in Point Mugu, CA.- Fabricate, test, maintain and repair Electronic Warfare platforms and equipment for the Marine Corp Spectrum Integration Lab for the Department of the Navy.
- Increase (V3) production effort executed lab operation fundamentals, troubleshooting and repairs. Used established Electronic Warfare lab procedures to build (V3) pods from start to system test
- Construct, repair, splice, solder wiring, replac coaxial, USB, Ethernet, and electrical connectors per mil spec standards using wiring, logic diagrams, drawings and schematics for various combat systems, (V1 and V3)
- Perform Mandatory Inspections on maintenance to ensure compliance with military and safety regulations
- Troubleshoot multiple system failures using standard test equipment i.e. Fluke meter, Oscilloscope, and spectrum analyzer, as well as the AN/USM-670 Joint Service Electronic Combat Systems Tester (JSECST).
- Collaborate with Physical Configuration Audit (PCA), aided in identifying deficiencies, used established processes to simplify difficult to manufacture production line items, streamlined procedures, to ensure accuracy and completeness of products and implemented solutions
- Construct multiple (V3) pods for UH-1 (Y) helicopter, created diagrams and operating guides.
- Configure lab workstations and consoles to assist in testing various components of (V3) pods
- Partner with systems engineers in testing and troubleshooting 30 (V3) amplifiers and couplers during the Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP)
- Work with other engineering disciplines to review draft mechanical and electrical drawings to developed maintenance and operational procedures for the end users of the systems.
- BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- 5+ years of experience with systems engineering and administration, testing and quality assurance
- Experience engineering various electronic components
- Secret clearance
