We’ve got what you’re looking for.Job Description:What You'll Be Doing:Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented instrumentation and controls designer to join our team! You will be providing instrumentation and controls for new and existing facilities for various client projects. Projects may include simple site utility improvements, thru brownfield modernizations of specialized inspection facilities, to greenfield chemical production facilities. You will be supporting engineers and may assist in training junior designers in various procedures and practices.What Required Skills You'll Bring:· Knowledge of drafting standards, and various CAD/CAE applications, in particular Revit, AutoCAD, and Smart Instrumentation.· Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, control systems, electrical systems, telecommunication networking, security systems design, and other I&C systems and components.· Knowledge of relevant standards, e.g., ISA, NFPA/NEC, UFC/UFGS.United States citizenship is required for this roleEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Associate's or equivalent technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course is preferred but not required.Minimum of five years of relevant experience working on government, commercial, and industrial facility projects.What You Need to Know about the Position:· Associate's or equivalent technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer or drafting course is preferred but not required. Minimum of five years of relevant experience working on government, commercial, and industrial facility projects as a designer is required.· Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required. Parsons projects may use Autodesk, Hexagon, and other engineering applications, you are expected to utilize software as required by assignment. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office/365 suite is expected.· Partial WFH is acceptable, but proximity to and willingness to work from corporate (engineering) offices is required.· You must be a US Citizen, but no security clearance is required.What You’ll Be Doing:· Performing assigned design/engineering tasks and in particular works efficiently and accurately.· Preparing location plans, equipment/instrument schedules/indices, control and cabinet drawings, loop diagrams, installation details, and logic diagrams, and other design and construction documents.· Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.· Understanding and implementing advanced software to complete assignments.· Meeting layout requirements and develop alternate design layouts of systems as required.· Ensuring compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.· Examining and extracting information from supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings.· Performing checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline.Minimum Clearance Required to Start:Not Applicable/NoneThis position is part of our Federal Solutions team.Our Federal Solutions segment delivers resources to our US government customers that ensure the success of missions around the globe.
