Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, the USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies.The Medical Equipment Planner will be responsible for planning and developing an equipment plan and associated infrastructure requirements to support all medical equipment for hospital construction projects from concept design to building activation. You will work onsite at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System (VAPAHCS). This position has been awarded to Planate. Key responsibilities:

Handle the cost of material estimates, assemble, and calibrate hospital equipment and instruments

Prepare technical reports and demonstrate engineering hospital techniques and procedures to new technical staff members

Review of construction drawings, equipment fittings

Supervise hospital installation works and commissioning of medical and non-medical equipment

Ensures that procurement of medical and non-medical equipment is within company regulations

Responsible for staff training (managerial and technical) for individual and institutional capacity building

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering

At least 5 years of specialized experience in hospital equipment planning and management

Must have AutoCAD experience

Experience in supervising installation works and commissioning of medical and non-medical equipment

Knowledgeable in different types of healthcare environments, essential

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Strong communications skills in English both written and oral

Knowledge of safety practices in the construction industry, including specifically, a background that indicates familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety requirements on construction projects.

Must lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits)
