Description Our Private School, client is seeking an Accountant with an Accounts Payable focus. Ful-Time on site in Palo Alto. School has a rich history of academic excellence and a commitment to fostering a supportive community.Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting and Finance/Controller, the Accountant plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day financial operations.Position requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to handle a high volume of transactions across multiple departments. Accountant will collaborate closely with the Business Office team, as well as with the Advancement and Admission departments, ensuring the smooth flow of financial information and adherence to established accounting procedures.Key Responsibilities

Prepare and process bank deposits accurately and in a timely manner.

Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.

Collaborate with the payroll and benefits manager to configure GL import of Paycom data efficiently.

Provide vital support during month-end close processes.

Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures in compliance with GAAP standards.

Advancement Collaboration

Record and reconcile funds received by the Advancement Department accurately.

Maintain monthly reconciliation between Business Office and Advancement records meticulously.

Record pledge payments promptly and maintain up-to-date Business Office pledge payment schedules.

Additional Responsibilities

Produce comprehensive monthly budget reports to facilitate informed decision-making.

Prepare journal entries accurately, reflecting financial transactions with precision.

Conduct thorough bank account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

Provide essential support documentation for audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field.

Minimum of five years of accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit or educational institution.

CPA certification preferred.

Proficiency in Veracross, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong collaborative and independent work ethic
