Pacifica Butterflies is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Butterfly Exhibit Staff Members. As a member of our fun team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our live butterfly exhibit at the 2024 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival. Job Overview
As a Butterfly Exhibit Staff Member, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the safety and well-being of the butterflies and visitors. Your primary focus will be to educate and engage visitors about the wonderful world of butterflies. This role requires excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We will provide training sessions to ensure your are equipped for success in your role.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and admit visitors to the butterfly exhibit with a warm and friendly attitude.
- Provide educational information to visitors about butterflies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the exhibit, which includes handling butterflies by hand at times.
- Monitor visitor interactions to ensure the safety of both visitors and butterflies.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation to and from fairgrounds (Indio, CA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Previous professional experience in education, customer service or a related field is highly preferred.
