Staff Accountant

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team based in Oxnard, California. The role involves performing general accounting and cost accounting duties, supporting the month-end close process, and assisting with company strategic planning among other tasks. This role is suited to someone proficient in Microsoft Excel and with experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, QuickBooks, and SAP. Responsibilities: Perform general accounting and cost accounting duties for the organization Support the month-end close process by booking all required entries in compliance with GAAP Ensure that prepaids, fixed assets, and accruals are booked properly and reconciled during the close process Document desk top procedures for your entity Prepare financial statements and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis Provide management with timely reviews of the organization’s financial status and progress Code invoices, set up new accounts as necessary & verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures Assist with company strategic planning Assist with special projects as required.
