Learn more at www.dignityhealth.org/StJohnsRegional.ResponsibilitiesIn keeping with the Dignity Health mission and standards the Physician Assistant - First Assist reports to the Director of Perioperative Services. Responsibilities include assessment planning intervention evaluation and standards of nursing practice and optimal outcomes including supervision of staff and OR Technicians. Directly partners with surgeon intraoperatively and assists with patient positioning. Directs and manages surgical team members while practicing perioperative nursing. Will function as a liaison between physicians nursing staff allied healthcare professionals patients and their families.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:

Two (2) year intraoperative experience in assisting the surgeon in the OR

Must have graduated from a program of instruction for Physical Assistants recognized and approved by the California Regulatory Board and approved by the California Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants

NCCPA Certification and maintain of the NCCPA certification is required in accordance with the NCPPA requirement of being recertified in the fifth (5 th ) or sixth (6 th ) year maintenance s cylce

Preferred Requirements:

Two hundred (200) hours of practical experience with robots a minimum of 50 robotic cases

Special Skills:

Ability to work in several surgical specialties such as gynecology cases open heart and urology utilizing robotic technology.

Work in other cases when no in robotic cases
