Description We are providing an opportunity for an HR Generalist to join our team in the non-profit industry based in Oxnard, California. The role involves managing various HR tasks, including preparing for the onboarding process, handling administrative tasks, providing HR advisory services to employees, and assisting in policy development.Responsibilities: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, coordinating with various departments to ensure a smooth first-day experience Handle administrative tasks related to onboarding, orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in HRIS and ensuring compliance Provide HR advisory services to employees on matters such as absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and other employee-relations matters Serve as the primary backup for payroll processing, including updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, expense reimbursements, and benefits changes Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart Contribute to the development of company policies Utilize Spanish language skills as needed in the roleThis role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. Requirements Proficiency in Spanish language is essential Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is required Proven experience in HR roles, preferably within the non-profit sector Strong knowledge of HR functions and best practices Excellent ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders Solid understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures Proficient in MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. PeopleSoft) will be a plus Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude Strong ethics and reliability Ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and discretion.
