Senior Fire Alarm Technician – Panel Programming & Troubleshooting Specialist

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Technician with advanced knowledge of Potter fire alarm systems to lead our fire team. This individual will oversee installations, perform programming, and provide hands-on training to junior technicians. Key Responsibilities
Lead field crews on fire alarm installation projects
Program and commission Potter fire alarm panels (PFC, IPA series)
Provide technical training and on-the-job guidance to junior technicians
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and final inspections
Ensure projects meet NFPA 72, AHJ, and ASCI’s internal quality standards
Collaborate with project managers to maintain timelines and resolve site challenges
Maintain proper documentation and lead communication with inspectors and clients
Qualifications
5+ years of fire alarm installation and programming experience
Advanced knowledge of Potter Fire Alarm Systems
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to read and interpret riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and submittals
In-depth knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire codes
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
NICET II or higher preferred (or ability to obtain)
Work Environment
Starting Location: Report as needed to our Irvine office/warehouse
Operating Area: Southern California – primarily Orange County, Los Angeles, Inland Empire, and occasionally San Diego
Work Setting: Field-based (on-site installation, commissioning, and training)
