HVAC Install Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
Removing old systems
Installing new systems
Training junior team members
Communicating with clients and customers
Assessing new installation and getting measurements and detail specifics for duct design, electrical and supply ordering
Meeting local HVAC codes
Running pipe and duct systems through homes
Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams
Understanding refrigeration cycles
Knowing how to interpret various technical data, such as pressure and temperature.
HVAC Technician Skills and Qualifications
HVAC work is challenging, both in terms of the technical knowledge needed for the job and the trade skills including carpentry, ducting system fabrication, electrical, plumbing and more. Problem-solving is a big part of the job, and Team leaders need good communication skills so they can explain to team what scope of work and how to delegate.
HVAC Technician Education and Training Requirements
You don’t need a college degree However, you do need an EPA certification also experience retrofitting old homes with new equipment.
Mitsubishi Certifications are a plus as well as NATE and NCI
