Part-Time Experienced Mechanic with Classic Car Expertise - Anaheim, CA
We are seeking a highly experienced mechanic with specialized knowledge and skills in working on classic cars for a part-time, flexible position in Anaheim, CA. This is an independent contractor role offering 20-30 hours per week based on availability, with compensation on an hourly basis. English fluency is required for clear communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Repairs and Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems in classic cars. This includes work on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, brake systems, electrical wiring, ignition systems, carburetors, fuel systems, and more.
Restoration Projects: Assist with the restoration of classic cars, ensuring that all components are repaired, replaced, or rebuilt to the highest standards. This may involve engine rebuilds, frame repairs, bodywork restoration, and reassembly.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, brake inspections, and cooling system checks to ensure the longevity of classic vehicles.
Customization and Upgrades: Some projects may involve customizing or upgrading classic cars to meet client specifications while retaining the integrity of the vehicle’s original design.
Attention to Detail: Must demonstrate an exceptional eye for detail, ensuring that all repairs are not only mechanically sound but also aesthetically pleasing, particularly when working on restored or high-value classic cars.
Neatness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, keeping tools, equipment, and work areas tidy. Properly store vehicles and parts to prevent damage or loss.
Client Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, explaining repairs, estimated timelines, and any issues found with their vehicles.
Qualifications and Skills:
Extensive Experience: Proven experience working as a mechanic with a strong focus on classic car repair, restoration, and maintenance. Hands-on experience with various makes and models of classic cars is essential.
Strong Diagnostic Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
Reliability and Flexibility: The ideal candidate must be reliable, punctual, and consistent. Flexibility with hours is important as work hours may vary week to week (20-30 hours, based on workload and availability).
Cleanliness and Professionalism: Must be able to work in a neat and professional manner, maintaining a clean workspace and ensuring that vehicles are handled with care.
Self-Sufficient: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete projects with minimal supervision.
Communication Skills: Must speak and understand English to interact with clients and the team clearly and professionally.
Passion for Classic Cars: A love and knowledge of vintage and classic vehicles is a must!
