MOBILE SERVICE TECHNICIAN – PART TIME - CONTRACT POSITION
Location: Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach
Pay: $30–$50/hr. (performance-based. potential for more)
Schedule: Client requests.

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced, reliable Mobile Service Technician to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on yachts at client homes and marinas. This role requires a self-motivated individual capable of working independently while staying connected with our service team. Strong communication, technical expertise, and a professional presence are essential.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have extensive experience with boats/yachts (intermediate to advanced level)
Own tools and supplies
Reliable transportation to client locations
Liability insurance (or ability to obtain within 1 month – assistance available)
High-quality smartphone with a reliable, high-resolution camera
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete a full maintenance inspection using our provided checklist
Photograph all inspected/performed work and upload to our file system
Perform basic mechanical repairs on yachts and equipment
Operate customer vessels safely for testing and inspections (no need to remove from dock)
Ensure vessels are safe, functional, and compliant
Install optional equipment as needed
Maintain timely arrival and professional presentation on job sites
Communicate effectively with our service department
Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Technical Skills:
Diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines (inboard/outboard/sterndrive)
AC/DC electrical systems, battery chargers, and marine electronics
Plumbing (bilge/freshwater/marine heads)
Steering/hydraulic systems
Navigation systems (GPS, radar, sonar)
Read and interpret manuals, schematics, blueprints
Interior and exterior vessel cleaning
Mechanical Aptitude:
Skilled with tools and diagnostic instruments
Strong troubleshooting and maintenance abilities
Soft Skills:
Professional and clear communicator
Detail-oriented with good documentation habits
Reliable, organized, and a team player
Physical Requirements:
Work in various weather conditions
Lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Work in confined and physically demanding spaces
TYPICAL JOB TASKS INCLUDE:
Full vessel inspections (35ft–90ft)
Routine engine/generator service
Electrical troubleshooting (12V/24V)
Battery, pump, stereo, light bulb replacements
Equipment installs
Interior and exterior cleaning
