Overview:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Facility Services, under minimal supervision, the Skilled Crafts Worker performs various repairs and maintenance tasks requiring skills in plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and other construction related trades. This is a full time, benefited, union position.
This is a bargaining unit position, hourly pay for Journeyman level for this position is $33.04 per hour. Union dues are $11 per pay period (2 times a month) and an additional 1.25%.
This position is also benefit eligible including: medical, dental and vision insurance, 9 paid holidays, sick days, vacation accrual (2 weeks vacation), tickets to games, 401K eligibility; employee contributions after 3 months, employer matching and safe harbor after 1 year and 1000 hours of employment and additional perks not listed above.
Duties:
-Builds, installs, remove, and repair walls, cabinets, shelves, stanchions, barricades, doors, and doorways, fences, bulletins and blackboards
-Performs welding fabrication and repairs
-Install sinks, counter-tops, dropped ceilings, ceiling tile and paneling
-Performs miscellaneous installation and repairs to various types of floors including: ceramic tile, carpet, and vinyl floors
-Repairs and replaces doors, door hinges, door locks and glass in doors and windows
-Repair and installs roofs, drywall, and perform rough framing work
-Maintains and repairs water lines, water tanks and heaters, faucets and flush valves, pressure relief valves, pumps, sinks and toilets
-Repairs and maintains stadium seats in building
-Repairs plumbing stoppages and broken pipes, including clearing drain lines
-Maintains and inspects fire sprinkler systems
-Repairs restaurant equipment and food service facilities
-Operates wide variety of equipment including power saws, sanders, grinders, forklifts, and basic hand tools
-Performs a variety of basic repairs during operating hours
-Performs other job related duties as requested
Qualifications:
-Journeyman level knowledge of the principles of plumbing, general construction, and carpentry
-Experience in plumbing repairs and/or plumbing installation
-Experience in welding
-Skills in general construction repair techniques
-Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Driver’s License
-Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
Physical Demands:
-Ability to frequently use both hands, arms and legs
-Ability to frequently stoop and bend
-Ability to frequently stand and walk for extended periods of time
-Ability to climb stairs and ladders
-Ability to work in confined or high spaces
-Ability to work in inclement weather (extreme cold or heat)
-Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
