Senior Software Developer (Pacific Investment Management Company, LLC (PIMCO) - Newport Beach, CA); Multiple positions available. Offering a salary range of $160,000 - $200,000 per year. Collect and distill business requirements and define technical options, trade-offs, and present to both technical and business audiences. Collaborate with business and technology teams to ensure well-architected technical solutions for Portfolio Analytics, Portfolio Managers and other internal clients. Responsible for collecting and distilling business requirements and subsequently identifying technical options, defining trade-offs and presenting recommendations to both technical and business congregations. Ensure proposed technical solutions adhere to both PIMCO’s internal standards and defined q/kdb/Refinery standards of practice. Provide specialized support to second-level users for business-critical complications.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field and 5 years of experience in q/kdb+. Education, training, or experience must include the following: software development and programming methodologies/systems, including Dashboards and Control for Kx and Python; data analysis tools and development analytics; programming languages, including Python, SAS, or similar; Kx Data Refinery platform; Income and Equity markets; and, big data processing, vector and matrix manipulations. Experience may be gained concurrently. Position based in Newport Beach, CA.
