Job Description: Packer for Wholesale Bakery
The packer is responsible for accurately fulfilling orders and efficiently packaging products to send out to customers. They must be highly organized and must be able to monitor product quality before being packaged. They also must be mindful of allergens being packaged to prevent cross-contamination.
Responsibilities:
Arrive on time as scheduled. Communicate any tardiness exceeding 5 minutes. A minimum of 4 hours notice for call outs.
Accurately count and package a variety of pastries, breads and desserts.
Monitor product quality, and communicate any concerns to the packing lead & distribution manager.
Follow all food safety regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Acknowledge and stay up to date on all relevant announcements on “Slack”.
Requirements:
Due to the nature of our business, applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Applicants must be able to continually stand and move for the duration of the shift.
Applicants must be able to read English and do basic math.
Physical Demands & Work Conditions
Push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. Anything excess, request assistance, reduce the load or use other equipment to facilitate.
Frequent mobility, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
