Job Description:
We can use help with legal writing, law and motion, all aspects of family law, preparing complaints, default judgment packages, all of which is the tip of the iceberg. I need someone who is capable of doing the legal research to prepare legal documents from scratch, as no law office has a template for everything, and legal issues vary from case to case.

Qualifications:
Advanced experience with MS Word and Excel are helpful. I don’t care how fast someone types, as typing 80 wpm doesn’t mean you can do finish word-processing work. I need someone who is skillful with word-processing and formatting legal documents to be court-file ready.
Obviously, all the skills and qualities that are prototype and a defining characteristic of a paralegal are necessary, such as being meticulous, detail-orientated, organized, and professional. Work shouldn’t be turned in until it is actually finished, proofread, and free of spelling and grammar errors.
This office has a substantial caseload in many different types law, such as family, construction, employment, business and corporate litigation, real estate, personal injury, probate, and other areas. We also provide legal services to self-represented parties nationwide, so familiarity with out-of-state law practice is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have experience drafting pleadings, demurrers, propounding and responding to discovery, drafting motions or opposing them in general, prepare subpoenas, depo notices, e-filing, legal research, and trial preparation. Knowledge of state and federal court rules is helpful. A 2-year degree in paralegal studies from an ABA rated school, or equivalent certificate program, is expected.
