Job Summary:

The Warehouse Order Picker is responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting items from the warehouse to fulfill customer orders. This role involves operating equipment, following safety procedures, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring that products are picked, packed, and prepared for shipment according to established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Picking:

Retrieve items from warehouse shelves based on order specifications.

Ensure that the correct quantity and quality of items are picked and placed in order bins.

Work within a specified time frame to meet daily order fulfillment goals.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate inventory records by verifying products in and out.

Assist in performing cycle counts and stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy.

Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the warehouse supervisor or manager.

Product Handling:

Safely handle and transport items within the warehouse, including large or bulky items.

Ensure items are stored in their correct locations after picking.

Follow proper safety protocols when handling hazardous or fragile items.

Packing and Shipping:

Pack selected items securely to prevent damage during transit.

Label packages and ensure they are ready for shipment.

Assist with loading and unloading shipments as required.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to meet team objectives and deadlines.

Communicate any issues or delays in picking to the appropriate team members.

Safety and Cleanliness:

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Follow all health, safety, and company policies, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Prior warehouse or order picking experience preferred but not required.

Experience using warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) is a plus.

Skills:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and packing orders.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

Good communication skills to report issues and work with colleagues.

Basic math skills for counting and measuring products.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, and move products weighing up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.

Certifications:

Forklift certification (if applicable) or willingness to be trained.

Environment:

The work will be performed in a warehouse environment

May require working in a noisy, fast-paced environment.

Hours:

Shift work may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on operational needs. The position is Full time Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with overtime available
