Patient Worker's Compensation Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Workers Compensation Coordinator at our busy Pain Management Clinic and Outpatient Surgery Center. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of workers’ compensation cases for our patients, ensuring seamless coordination between patients, medical staff, insurance providers, and legal representatives.

Responsibilities:

  Serve as the primary point of contact for patients filing workers’ compensation claims.

  Coordinate communication between patients, medical staff, insurance companies, and legal representatives.

  Assist patients in completing necessary paperwork and documentation for workers’ compensation claims.

  Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatment and procedures.

  Maintain accurate and detailed records of all workers’ compensation cases and associated communications.

  Collaborate with medical billing and administrative staff to ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement for

services rendered.

  Coordinate appointments, treatments and follow up care for patients, ensuring timely and appropriate scheduling.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably with a focus on workers' compensation in pain management

2. Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and processes.

3. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and stakeholders.

4. Proficiency in medical terminology and basic understanding of pain management treatments and procedures.

5. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

6. Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.

7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

8. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work independently as well as part of a team.

9. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the workers' compensation process.

10. Strong understanding of worker' compensation regulations, process and documentation requirements.
