Job purpose
The Food and Beverage Manager / Operations is a senior role which involves overseeing the production of goods and/or provision of services. It’s the Food and Beverage Manager / Operations job to make sure an organization is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of guests.
Duties and responsibilities
The Food and Beverage Manager / Operations has a broad role, some include monitoring and analyzing the current system of production or provision to check it’s effective, and working out a strategy for improving if necessary. Food and Beverage Manager / will be managing day-to-day activities, analyzing statistics and reading and writing reports. Food and Beverage / Operations manager also have to do a lot of liaising with other team members, including interacting with managers of different areas of the organization, presenting findings to the General Manage as well as training and supervising new employees and tracking and measuring staff performance.
Other duties and responsibilities include:
Planning and controlling change
Managing quality assurance programs
Researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency
Setting and reviewing budgets and managing cost
Overseeing inventory, distribution of goods and facility layout
Operations Manager will also take walks around the building inside and outside to make the property is safe and under well maintenance to prevent any guest and employee accidents
Operations must check with every department on a daily basis to ensure the departments are running smoothly as possible
Operations manager works hand in hand with the General Manager and has meetings with the GM on a weekly basis to go over things that may need to get done
Updating the GM on what going on, on the floor and over the weekend
Operations Manager will recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and discipline employees
Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions
Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
Assist with payroll department and HR department needs.
Maintaining personal health and sanitation standards
Qualifications
Prior management experience is preferred
Short-term on-the job training
English language and professional communications skills are required
Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours
Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel and PowerPoint is a must.
Working conditions
Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people and will require working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. May includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
Physical requirements
Job requires climb stairs, stand (4 hours at a time), and walk long periods of time, sometimes extended distances, reach hands and arms in any directions, kneel, bend and stoop repeatedly.
Job requires make fast, simple, repeated movements of fingers, hands and wrists.
