Job Overview:
We are a Dessert Food Manufacturer looking for the right team member. We provide a variety of rice crispie treats to consumers nationwide. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals possessing an interest in creating delicious food products. The Crispie Marshmallow Melter/Mixer/Setter will be responsible for preparing all of the ingredients in a large commercial pot. This action takes some strength and will be very repetitive. This position will also switch between the melting station and setting station when needed. In addition to cooking the rice crispy treats, you will be asked to help with prepping the ingredients and washing the dishes. We are a small team so everyone helps with the entire process of making the crspies.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Be able to follow the recipe cards and add ingredients to the pots in the correct order.
Stir marshmallows consecutively for 15 minutes at a time. The last 5 minutes will be strenuous when you add the rice crispie cereal.
Mix melted marshmallows with dry cereal to create rice crispie dough to set in baking pan.
Measure and batch dry ingredients for setting.
Spread mixed marshmallow and cereal dough in sheet pan and set with hands and roller pin
Must have ability to lift 30 lbs. You will be required to turn a full pot of crispies weighing up to 25lbs completely upside down and hold it in the air for 10-15 seconds while you scrape the pan.
Wash dishes and keep a clean working space – must be able to manage a clean three compartment sink.
Requirements
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Cooking experience in a commercial bakery preferred
Current CA Food Handler’s Card
