Infrastructure Engineer (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) – Newport Beach, CA); Multiple positions available. Identify the core functionality required from PIMCOs software programs, including the level of security and performance needs; analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, project managers, and others within PIMCO Technology to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces; and design, test, develop, and enhance software solutions to meet those needs. Design, plan and implement group policies for an enterprise environment. Perform Active Directory and Group Policy architecture and design; plan and troubleshoot Group Policy for optimization and security; perform Group Policy backup and recovery; and create strategy for configuring the user environment and computer environment with Group Policy. Monitor compliance with Microsoft Active Directory policies and standards as defined on the AD Web Site, including Change Management, Communication and Coordination. Recommend software upgrades as appropriate for existing programs and systems, and collaborate within the Technology division to set operational specifications, create optimum software, and ensure through software maintenance and testing that the solutions function normally and work seamlessly in conjunction with each other to achieve their objectives. Document the code and integral aspects of the applications and systems to facilitate future maintenance and upgrades. Advise on enterprise environment management for desktops focusing on Windows 10 operating system deployment, patch management, software distribution, and inventory/licensing reporting. Create SCCM application packages and perform automated deployment for seamless integration with Windows 10 OS. Perform Global Windows 7 to Windows 10 migration and create scripts to perform migration tasks.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and 5 years of experience in performance engineering. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience, will accept 7 years of experience in performance engineering. Stated experience must include: Working on implementation and troubleshooting issues related to Active directory and group policies; Installation and troubleshooting issues related to Office Suite for Windows; Performance engineering work, related to server and client performance, including issues related to slow system, soft and hard freeze; high consumption of system resources like high memory and high CPU; deep dive troubleshooting using sysinternal tools like performance monitor, perfwiz, network monitor, memory dump, etc.; and analyze system performance with varying levels of system resources (hardware and software); Using Windows PowerShell on Active Directory and exchange required for migration, extracting required data and day to day commands for troubleshooting; Creating technical documents, presentations, and diagrams, including system and architecture designs; and Installing and troubleshooting all issues related to client-side operating systems that include Windows 7.
