Amazing Dogs Rescue hosts dog adoption events in California and Oregon to find our rescue 'kids' a home. We have partnered with PetSmart in Aliso Viejo to hold events every other weeks on Saturdays. The entire process, including set-up and breakdown, typically takes around 5 hours, with preparations starting at 9 am.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Adoption Events Manager to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to organize of these adoption events and ensure that as many rescue dogs as possible find loving homes. The selected candidate will receive on-the-job training during 4-6 events before assuming full responsibility for managing these events.
Main responsibilities:
Organize events in professional way
Meet adoption targets
Meet food donation targets
Tasks:
Recruit and train (un)paid volunteers (6-10 per event, each 2 1/2 to 5 hrs; for this location we already have a team of 5 motivated volunteers)
Organize event (set up, breakdown, managing volunteers)
Promote event by posting in 'local' social media (Nextdoor, FB groups) and offline (flyers) communication
Recruitment fosters
Requirements:
Must LOVE dogs and preferably have some experience in dog rescue (f.e. as a foster)
Leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Familiar with social media
Good physical shape
Living in area
Required time:
- Event 5 hrs
- Preparation during the week 2-3 hrs
Compensation:
Applicants who are pre-selected will be invited to attend the upcoming event on Saturday April 6 and will get paid $50 as compensation for travel costs. From that pool a candidate will be selected as manager for future events. Payment as events manager is from $200 (min guaranteed) up to $500 if targets are met. Applications by couples are welcomed. Payment of compensation will be made via Venmo, PayPal or Zelle on Tuesday after the event. This offer is contract based (1099).
