A leading international manufacturing company with a facility in Laguna Hills is looking for a JuniorBuyer/Planner. The company produces products used in industries such as medical manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, automotive and many others. This role is responsible for purchasing goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met. The Jr.Buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget.
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with pay starting at $26 to $29/hour. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm.
Responsibilities:
Review MRP outputs and Reorder Point reports to determine purchasing needs and placing purchase orders in Number Cruncher MRP system to support analysis.
Communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.
Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
Coordinate with inventory team, engineering, production, management, and stockroom as required.
Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of Purchasing experience.
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
Proficient in the use of MRP/ERP software.
Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required.
Community College Course Work or Bachelor's Degree in relevant field is preferred.
