Equity Research Analyst (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) – Newport Beach, CA); Multiple positions available. Monitor and analyze global macroeconomic, financial market, and geopolitical developments. Forecast equity market movements. Create and update financial models. Monitor portfolio price movements and news flow, updating positioning as necessary. Develop and communicate tactical and long-term market views. Develop and communicate cross-asset views in cooperation with specialists in other asset classes, i.e. credit, rates, FX, or commodities. Identify thematic investment opportunities. Recommend equity investment actions in written reports based on top-down views. Write earnings updates. Meet with corporate management teams, investor relations contacts, brokers, and sell-side analysts as part of the fundamental research process. Construct trades.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Political Science, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in equity analysis. Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: financial software such as Bloomberg; fundamental analysis; and, financial modeling and data analysis programs such as Excel. Experience may be gained concurrently.
