Desk Analyst (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) – Newport Beach, CA); Multiple positions available. Offering a salary range of $160,000 to $200,000 per year. Support PIMCO’s Portfolio Management and trading functions by applying mathematical theories and techniques to solve practical problems in business. Assist in the research of trading ideas and strategies across global markets. Liaise directly with senior portfolio managers on ad-hoc quantitative analysis. Collaborate cross-functionally with analytics, research, and technology teams to support investing tools and models. Assist with the booking of trades and the development and implementation of quantitative models, including performance attribution and risk modeling, to support the investment team at large.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related quantitative field. Education, training, or experience must include the following: Quantitative trading strategies; Performance attribution and risk modelling; Programming and scripting languages including Python; Fixed income markets and portfolio management techniques; and Financial analysis tools, including Bloomberg, RiskVal, or similar. Experience may be gained concurrently. Position based in Newport Beach, CA. Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week.
