Description We are currently seeking a talented Litigation Paralegal with expertise in eDiscovery to provide comprehensive support to join leading California Law Firm on a temporary basis in their Oakland, CA offices. This role will involve providing essential support to attorneys and collaborating closely with the Director of Administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation support, document management, and eDiscovery technology. This is a contract opportunity with the potential to extend or convert based on performance, candidate's must be able to report onsite in Oakland, CA on a hybrid basis. Essential Functions:

Collaborate closely with attorneys and team members to manage cases from initiation through trial/settlement and post-trial/post-settlement phases.

Draft, review, and revise legal documents while ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.

Manage both physical and electronic case documents, including email and electronic files, and update discovery logs and indices.

Assist with document review utilizing eDiscovery technology and document review tools, including training other team members on these tools.

Support and manage document productions, including coordinating with vendors for litigation support services.

Assist with deposition and hearing preparation, including gathering exhibit documents and creating witness outlines.

Perform litigation support duties such as Bates stamping exhibits, preparing spreadsheets and CDs, and reviewing litigation dockets.

Conduct legal research and monitor pending decisions.

Maintain accurate and detailed billable-time entries and timecards, satisfying an annual 1575 billable hour budget.

Maintain regular on-site attendance and the ability to work remotely if required.

Demonstrate excellent customer support and collaborate effectively with Firm employees.

Requirements

Requirements:

Ability to work and bill as a paralegal under Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code section 6450.

Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved institution, plus a minimum of five years of paralegal experience with a California law firm or in-house legal department.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Office 365.

Prior experience with eDiscovery software (iPro, Relativity, or Concordance) and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.

Familiarity with legal research databases such as Westlaw and/or Lexis.

Understanding of legal procedures, rules of counsel, and local rules.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects independently or in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the construction industry or construction-related legal practice.

Strong technical eDiscovery skills and experience with Trial Director.

Trial experience and familiarity with Casebook programs or other data management systems.

Experience with iManage 10 or other document management programs.
