Staff Accountant and Support Specialist

Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant and Support Specialist based in Novato, California. This role will be primarily focused in the medical support industry, requiring in-person engagement in our administrative office. As a Staff Accountant and Support Specialist, you will be assisting with general accounting duties as well as providing support to the Human Resource and Operations Manager with compliance, benefits, payroll, and medical credentialing tasks.Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements under the guidance of the Director of Finance. Handle the processing and upkeep of accounts receivable and accounts payable. Reconcile bank statements and prepare end of month patient billing reports. Generate journal entries for specific partnerships, inclusive of sub-ledger reviews. Maintain W-9 records and facilitate the generation of 1099s using software. Prepare Use Tax Returns and other required tax forms. Conduct ad hoc analysis and projects as required. Provide support during annual open enrollment and manage benefits administration. Assist in the processing of monthly benefit invoices. Act as a backup for bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing. Gather the necessary information for compliance reporting and audits. Undertake other assigned projects. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance Experience with Journal Entries Familiarity with Month End Close procedures Proficiency in Sage Software Ability to use Excel Formulas Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of Pivot Table Experience with Open Enrollment procedures Payroll processing experience Experience with Process Bi-weekly Payroll Familiarity with semi-Monthly Payrolls Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
