Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Newport Beach, California, United States. The role involves managing financial closing processes and providing financial support and analysis to the production team. You will also be tasked with performing account variance analysis and assisting in managing the company's SOX compliance program.Responsibilities: Oversee financial closing processes on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Support the production team by monitoring inventory purchases and providing financial analysis. Execute end-of-month purchases reconciliation. Develop the annual budget and semi-annual labor/overhead rates for the internal manufacturing unit. Carry out account variance analysis, with a focus on inventory and cost accounting, gross margin, cost of goods sold, and international and intercompany transactions. Assist in managing the SOX compliance program, ensuring compliance within the Accounting and IT departments. Aid in managing the external audit and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of schedules assigned to the accounting team. Guarantee timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. Undertake additional accounting and analysis projects as necessary. Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is a necessity for the Sr. Accountant role. The candidate must have experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation. The ability to conduct Bank Reconciliations is required. A thorough understanding of General Ledger is essential. The candidate should be adept at creating and managing Journal Entries. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a key requirement for this role. Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary. Knowledge of NetSuite is a valuable asset for this role. The candidate must be familiar with Oracle. Experience with SAP is a significant requirement for this position. The candidate should have a strong foundation in Cost Accounting. Experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting is highly desirable for this role.
