Refinery Operator

Performs and oversees various refinery plant operational duties within an industrial work environment while monitoring and controlling the refining/processing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.

Operate and monitor refinery plant equipment and processes according to established procedures and safety protocols.

Perform routine maintenance on refinery plant equipment and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.

Monitor and maintain process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical concentrations, to ensure optimal performance.

Monitor and control refinery plant emissions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Communicate with other plant personnel and management to coordinate activities and ensure safe and efficient operations.

Complete necessary documentation, including operating logs, maintenance records, and safety reports.

Participate in training and development programs to maintain and improve skills.

High School or equivalent required.

0 to 3 years

Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Problem-solving skills.

Good verbal/written communication skills.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Knowledge of process control systems, such as distributed control systems (DCS).
