Definition and Class CharacteristicsINTERVIEWS FOR SELECTED CANDIDATES WILL BE HELD JANUARY 3RD FOLLOW-UP INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD THE WEEK OF JANUARY 6TH The County of Nevada is seeking a full-time Management Analyst II or Management Analyst Senior to serve the Board of Supervisors' Office (BOS) located in Nevada City, California. This Management Analyst serves in a high-level capacity and staff to the entire Nevada County Board of Supervisors serving under the Chief of Staff/Clerk of the Board. The candidate will work directly in the field and be a liaison for the Board of Supervisors' office with constituents, County Departments, jurisdictional partners and community partners. The position will be based primarily in Nevada City but will be expected to work in Truckee on a periodic basis, as well as travel on occasion. The candidate will supervise and be expected to help lead Board analyst team on special projects, project manage complex projects with tight deadlines, provide guidance on politically sensitive issues, and possess strong communication and analytical ability. Critical for success is the ability to understand and navigate public policy and rolling up sleeves to accomplish administrative workloads. Crucial skills for success include clear communication, the ability to take initiative, and use good discretion. Work opportunities include fielding and responding to public inquiries for information, conducting public policy research, working collaboratively in diverse teams, supporting efforts to advance county priorities, building and improving community partnerships and advancing legislative priorities. This is an exciting position that will serve as both an information detective and public ambassador. The candidate will also directly work with legislative delegates, community leaders, and most importantly community and constituent members. The ideal candidate will be passionate about public service, place a strong emphasis on the need for data-driven solutions by exploring nuances and multifaceted perspectives when tackling any given issue! Qualifying applicants should have experience and/or desire to work with local leaders. Successful abilities include prioritizing multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced and exciting environment. The candidate should not be deterred by bureaucratic hurdles through innovative thinking, solution driven problem solving and an earnest appreciation for community building and wellbeing. Other work will include aspects of fiscal budgeting, detailed research, process improvement efforts, working on special projects, and some administrative support duties. True success in this position requires an excitement for working in the public sphere and advancing the well-being of the community.
