Description A Robert Half Management Resources client is in immediate need of a Controller Level Consultant with expertise in financial statement reconstruction and forensic analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of accounting principles, extensive experience in month-end close procedures, and the ability to reconstruct a year's worth of financial statements with precision and accuracy.Key Responsibilities:Financial Statement Reconstruction:Utilize forensic analysis techniques to reconstruct a year's worth of financial statements from incomplete or fragmented records.Identify discrepancies, irregularities, and inconsistencies in financial data and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather missing information, documentation, and historical records necessary for reconstruction.Month-End Close Procedures:Oversee month-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close activities to support financial reporting requirements.Review financial data to identify trends, variances, and anomalies, providing insights to drive decision-making.Financial Statement Creation:Lead the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.Audit Support:Collaborate with auditors and external stakeholders to facilitate audit processes, providing documentation and support as needed.Address audit inquiries and findings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and audit standards.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.Develop and implement best practices for financial statement reconstruction, month-end close procedures, and financial reporting.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.Proven experience (10 years) in a senior accounting or controller role, with a focus on financial statement reconstruction and forensic analysis.Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and audit procedures.Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify discrepancies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
