REQUIREMENTS:
Must be enrolled in an academic program and working towards completing a PhD degree
WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON:
Design, optimize, and layout novel semiconductor devices with applications in photonics such as phase shifters, modulators and photodetectors.
Design, optimize, and layout novel photonic integrated devices and circuits.
Contribute to system- and chip-level optimization
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven track record of contributions to
photonic device design (please include citations in application)
semiconductor device design (please include citations in application)
wafer foundry tape-outs (please specify foundry in application)
Knowledge and understanding of
semiconductor simulation software (Synopsys Sentaurus)
photonic simulation software (Lumerical, Flexcompute or equivalent)
numerical optimization algorithms and application to design
wafer foundry tape-out procedures (design rule check, etc)
photonic and semiconductor layout tools (GDSfactory, Cadence Virtuoso, or equivalent)
python scripting and programming
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and experience in
integrated photonic measurements
free-space optics
wafer fabrication

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $118,000 - $145,000 + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
