ABOUT THE POSITION: The HVAC Senior Technician position is a full-time position located at the Presidio of Monterey. The facility contains numerous buildings with various HVAC systems, all of which serve critical functions. This position will require a strong professional background in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining a variety of complex HVAC systems, including large commercial systems and chillers. The successful candidate will need to possess strong technical HVAC skills as well as supervisory, project management, customer service and record keeping ability. Current possession of Section 608Technician Certification is preferred. The selected candidate will be required to successfully pass a military background check.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Any combination Equivalent to graduation from high school.
Experience: Minimum of Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in all HVAC, air conditioning and refrigeration related work as well as in general building maintenance and repair work, with at least One (1) years leading or supervising the work of others.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License upon time of appointment and be insurable with the City’s standard insurance rate, unless otherwise approved by appointing authority.
