Smith Medical Pedicures was founded in 2013 by Dr. Alan H. Smith, a Board Certified Licensed Podiatrist of over 40 years on the Monterey Peninsula. Dr. Smith has provided advanced training for all of our licensed nail technicians. Smith Medical Pedicures provides the highest level of medically supervised, therapeutic, hygienic, aesthetic feet and nail care in the Monterey area.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Nail Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nail care and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Nail Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nail services while ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for clients. This individual performs various medically-focused care treatments that include, but are not limited to, foot assessments, sterile treatment techniques, and referrals to the podiatrist when necessary.

● Adheres to all health and safety regulations, including sterilization techniques

● Maintains cleanliness and organization of nail stations, tools, and equipment

● Performs routine and specialized nail care for clients with medical conditions, including diabetic patients

● Debrides and thins toenails

● Applies antifungal medicine to toenails

● Performs callus reduction and cuticle care

● Identifies significant changes in the condition of patients’ feet through data

collection

● Performs patient foot massages

● Removes nail polish

● Applies the patient’s choice of polish to toenails

● Demonstrates standards of excellence in patient care in all interactions

● Provides referrals to a podiatrist

● Provides manicures

● Provides nail fill-ins

● Provides exceptional customer service, ensuring a relaxing and therapeutic experience for all clients

This is will be an in-person role located in one of our offices located in Monterey or Salinas.

Physical requirements

● Hand-eye coordination

● Repetitive arm/hand movements with precise control

● Ability to sit in one position for prolonged periods of time

● Ability to hold hands steady

● Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

● Required education and experience

● California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (CBBC) Manicurist License

● Strong knowledge of hygiene and sanitation standards

● 1 year of nail care experience

Preferred education and experience

● Certification as a Medical Nail Technician

● Experience in medical or spa settings

● A passion for treating clients with medical conditions

Pay range - $25.00 per hour with 10% commission on services provided

Business Operating Hours Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm
