Stokes Adobe in Monterey is seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team! We are a Michelin recommended restaurant located in downtown Monterey, with core values centered around the love of community and connection through food. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, with a strong background in fine dining and banquet service. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, prep planning, and food production to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

DUTIES

-Lead and manage the kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation.

-Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting dietary needs.

-Oversee food production processes, ensuring quality control and adherence to food safety standards.

-Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.

-Supervise daily kitchen operations, including shift management and staff scheduling.

-Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food handling, and safety practices.

-Collaborate with the catering team for special events and banquets, ensuring seamless execution.

-Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment that complies with health regulations.

-Foster a positive team atmosphere through effective communication and leadership.

REQUIREMENTS

-Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role within the food industry.

-Strong culinary skills with experience in fine dining, catering, and banquet service.

-Demonstrated ability in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management.

-Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.

-Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.

-Strong organizational skills with experience in inventory management and cost control.

-Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with staff and guests.
