Childcare Cook – Full-Time (M-F, 7 AM - 4 PM)
Are you passionate about cooking nutritious meals and baking delicious treats? Do you enjoy working in a childcare setting and have a keen eye for food allergies and dietary needs? We are looking for a dedicated Childcare Cook to join our team!
Position Overview
As our Childcare Cook, you will prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks while maintaining a focus on nutrition, cost-conscious planning, and ingredient safety. You will be responsible for designing weekly menus, adjusting portions based on attendance, and ensuring all meals meet health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children.
Be mindful of allergies and dietary restrictions when cooking.
Develop weekly menus and adjust portions based on attendance.
Maintain ingredient logs and record food preparation through photos and spreadsheets.
Lead a 15-minute weekly class to teach children how to measure and prepare simple snacks.
Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Perform light laundry duties, such as washing crib sheets and small clothing items.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Bring a positive attitude and enjoy engaging with children.
Qualifications & Requirements
Food Handler Certification (can be obtained during training).
Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certification (training available if needed).
Must pass a background check and fingerprinting process.
Experience in meal planning, budgeting, and portion control.
Ability to work with spreadsheets for menu planning and ingredient tracking.
Strong organizational skills and a self-starter mindset.
Passion for nutrition, cooking, and baking.
