The Central Office Manager’s (“COM’s”) employment with The Santa Cruz County Intergroup, Inc., is for the management of the Alcoholics Anonymous Central Office located in Soquel, California. The employment shall be "AT WILL" and for a non specified period of time. Job duties are more specifically described below, which may be modified based upon experience and abilities.

Job Classification - Part-time 20 Hours per week. An Employee Handbook shall be provided after receipt of Resume, as directed by the hiring committee. See Employee Handbook for more specific details.

The Starting pay shall be $24.00 per hour - Payable Bi Monthly - Paid Time Off - 62.4 hours per year, accrued annually.

Required Qualifications and Skills - The Central Office Manager must have;

a. Knowledge of the Alcoholics Anonymous Program or other 12-step recovery programs

b. Experience in the volunteer service structure of Alcoholics Anonymous or similar Non-Profit Entity

c. Reasonable knowledge and ability to learn about the Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous

B. Ability to read and write in English

C. Be organized and able to maintain an organizational structure

D. Basic understanding of arithmetic

E. Basic computer skills including the ability to learn simple applications and software as directed by the Santa Cruz County Intergroup Steering Committee (“Steering Committee”), including:

a. Microsoft Word

b. Microsoft Excel

c. QuickBooks Online

d. Square Point of Sale System

F. High School, GED or equivalent, and some Community College preferred

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

A. Bookkeeping experience

B. Retail Experience

C. Experience in supervisory position

D. Ability to identify and provide Bookkeeper and CPA information necessary to complete tax reports.

Essential Job Functions

Under the supervision of the Chairperson of the Steering Committee, the COM is responsible for:

❏ Efficient administration and operation of the Central Office, including maintaining regular open hours for the community at large

❏ Creating and maintaining a record of all monies received in the Central Office

❏ Timely deposits of all monies received in Central Office to the bank at least twice per month

❏ Ensuring all deposit slips and receipts are given to the Treasurer for accurate record of financial transactions

❏ Maintaining an inventory of A.A. literature and other products including placing orders and making requests as needed

❏ Creating and/or maintaining timecard system for payroll for SCCI employee bi-monthly

❏ Submitting payroll information to designated tax and accounting professionals quarterly

❏ Submit all legal, tax, insurance, and related requirements on time

❏ Reporting the activities of the Central Office at each regular monthly Council and Steering Committee meeting (i.e. log of activities)

❏ Supervision and training of Central Office volunteers

❏ Informing the Steering Committee as to the needs of the Central Office

❏ Regularly checking Central Office email, phone, and mail and making responses in a timely manner to all correspondences

❏ Maintaining digital or physical copies of Intergroup documents in the Central Office (i.e. meeting minutes, flyers, tax documents, etc.)

Additional Job Functions

❏ Fielding all written feedback, complaints, criticisms, recommendations, etc., and referring these items to the Steering Committee for consideration before taking action, as directed within the Steering Committee Bylaws

❏ Assisting Steering Committee in the maintenance of an accurate listing of active A.A. Groups, Group Secretaries, and other Group data

❏ Travel to regional and national conferences of Alcoholics Anonymous as approved in advance and reimbursed by the Steering Committee

❏ Assisting any committees of Intergroup with purchasing, collecting, restocking materials needed for Intergroup events as requested by those committees

❏ Print documents, fliers and materials as needed (e.g. monthly newsletter, agendas, flyers, meeting schedules, etc) and prepare for distribution or display

❏ Working with the Steering Committee Chair to maintain an accurate description of the COM position, including the duties to be performed, and employee entitlements

❏ Referring members and/or inquirers to related service entities as needed (e.g., General Service, Hospitals and Institutions, etc)

❏ Other tasks as assigned by the Steering Committee related to Central Office management
