Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a meticulous Sr. Accountant to join our team in the non-profit sector. Based in Montebello, California, the role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining budget, funding, and performing reconciliations. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage daily operations including budgeting, funding, and reconciliations. Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Prepare and submit journal entries in various systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Conduct month-end close processes diligently and on time. Utilize Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks and reporting. Work with Abila MIP – a highly preferred skill in this role. Effectively manage accrual vacations and cost reimbursements. Actively participate in funding and reconciliation activities. Ensure accurate record-keeping and perform regular audits to ensure compliance. Liaise with various departments to ensure smooth financial operations. Requirements Must have extensive experience in the non-profit sector Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is required Ability to manage the general ledger and journal entries Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience with month end close procedures is necessary Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Abila MIP software Demonstrated knowledge in financial reporting and data analysis Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
