- Plans, designs and directs civil engineering projects such as roads, railroads, airports, buildings, bridges, harbors, tunnels, dams, pipelines and power plants.
- Leads, assigns and directs the day-to-day activities of less experienced engineers and designers in the performance of their duties.
- Analyzes maps, blueprints, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.
- Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data, applying engineering and advanced mathematic principles.
- Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering specifications.
- Provides resources and schedules in response to specified completion dates and technical applications.
- Prepares proposals and cost estimates.
- Evaluates project schedules and completion.
- Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software.
- Establishes design criteria for structures, foundations, buildings and site preparation.
- Analyzes and designs steel or concrete framed support structures and/or soil bearing or piled foundations for structures, buildings or equipment.
- Minimum eight years of related experience.
- You are able to obtain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC). In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship
