Robert Half seeks a Controller to become a part of a successful company and take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Monrovia, California region. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations

Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection Requirements - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

Excellent attention to detail

Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Ability to meet deadlines

Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

CPA or MBA preferred

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Practical knowledge of Sage Software

Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience required

Knowledge of Analyze Financial Statements

Background working with Microsoft Excel

Experience with Financial Audits

CPA experience highly valued

Foundational knowledge in Health Care

Previous experience working with Month-end Journal Entries

Earlier work involving Excel Formulas

Month end closings experience

Profit and loss experience preferred

Comprehension of University Degree

Bank reconciliations experience desired

Demonstrated knowledge of financial statement preparation

Proficiency in account reconciliation

Proficiency in Annual Financial Reporting

Prior experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation

Sage Intacct experience highly preferred

General familiarity with Financial Statement Audits

Foundational knowledge in financial analysis

Good understanding of journal entries

Experience with US GAAP

Adeptness in Financial Consolidation

Hands-on experience with HealthCare Revenue Cycle
