Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an ADA/LOA Specialist in Monrovia, California. The successful candidate will be involved in the human resources industry, specifically focusing on managing ADA accommodation requests and FMLA cases. This role involves maintaining confidentiality, compliance with HIPAA, managing a high workload, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities: Oversee the interactive process for ADA accommodation requests, ensuring effective communication with store leadership and crew members. Keep detailed records of submitted ADA accommodation requests and approved accommodations. Collaborate with HR Generalists to gain context and background on reasonable accommodations. Compose and send letters to crew members for clarification on proposed accommodations as needed. Manage ADA leave cases and intermittent FMLA cases in the leave tracking system. Review medical certification submitted by crew members and communicate with them to request initial/updated medical certification, confirm approved time, and prompt return to work. Communicate with store leadership about the status of submitted leave cases. Update work status in the leave tracking system and HRIS system.Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as an ADA/LOA Specialist. Demonstrated proficiency in managing Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) related matters. Expertise in handling Leave of Absence cases and procedures. Strong understanding of regulations under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Experience in HIPAA Compliance System Implementation is a must. Proven track record in managing ADA Accommodations. Ability to interpret and apply legal and regulatory standards. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
