Job Title: Technical Maintenance WriterJob DescriptionThe Technical Maintenance Writer supports the development, production, authoring, internal and external reviews, submittals, releases, and control of operational Maintenance Task Cards. This role requires close collaboration with technical design engineers, project engineers, program managers, and subject-matter experts to ensure the accuracy and availability of necessary information for writing maintenance documents. Additionally, the writer utilizes existing technical and procedural documentation to create efficient and effective aircraft maintenance procedural task cards, working with maintenance planners to maximize task card organization and effectiveness. The role also involves facilitating safety, quality, engineering, and maintenance verification and validation of maintenance task cards for technical accuracy, implementing changes to released maintenance task cards, and resolving documentation deficiencies noted during usage of task cards.Responsibilities

Develop and produce operational Maintenance Task Cards.

Author and review technical documents both internally and externally.

Collaborate with technical design engineers, project engineers, program managers, and subject-matter experts.

Utilize existing technical and procedural documentation to build effective maintenance task cards.

Work with maintenance planners to enhance task card organization and effectiveness.

Facilitate safety, quality, engineering, and maintenance verification and validation of maintenance task cards.

Implement changes to released maintenance task cards.

Resolve documentation deficiencies noted during the usage of task cards.

Perform on-ship documentation as needed.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or equivalent aerospace operations experience.

High level of proficiency in preparing technical data, product support data, logistic data, and technical documents.

Proficient knowledge of aerospace industry standards and specifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate rating preferred.

At least three years’ experience working in Title 14, Part 121 or 135 air carrier or MRO environments.

Experience working with aircraft technical design data and blueprints and converting them into aircraft maintenance style task cards.

Previous experience in aviation maintenance department operations is highly desirable.

Professional experience in the aviation/aerospace business.

Ability to travel at least 20% as needed.

Work EnvironmentThis position can be based in Mojave or New Mexico, with the need to travel between these sites. The role involves 20% travel. The contract is for 9 months but may be extended.
