Their responsibilities include temporarily covering a position and picking up shifts as needed. Floaters would be able to convert into a set schedule once it is available. Floaters would be able to attain variable hours in a week, not guaranteed, between 8-30 hours.As a Hospital Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high profile healthcare customer. The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the client’s healthcare premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Hospital Security Professional detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observe and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner.Responsibilities:
Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
Foot patrol will include stairs, indoors and outdoors. This will require walking / standing for the majority of the shift
Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed
Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility
Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
Patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue
Provide exceptional customer service to guests, patients and hospital staff
Participate in patient holds for behavior health patients
Minimum Requirements:
Be able to be fully clean shaven (if applicable)
Be free of visible tattoos on areas of the body that are not covered by standard work attire; tattoos on the face, neck, hands, or any visible body part must be absent or easily concealable.
Be free of visible piercings, including facial piercings, during work hours; piercings that can be easily removed are acceptable.
Be able to stand and walk for extended periods, as the nature of the job may involve continuous periods of standing and walking.
Be proficient in using various technologies, including computers, tablets, laptops, and cell phones.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
