Description Robert Half has partnered with a well-known hospital in Mission Hills in search of a Patient Access Representative that will act as the first point of contact for patients in their busy Emergency Department (ED). The ideal candidate must be able to deliver a high level of patient service, support the medical staff, and effectively manage patient information in a timely manner. They will be responsible for facilitating patient access to the services provided by their ED, and play a crucial role in managing patient flow within the department.Responsibilities:

Register patients upon arrival, verifying necessary personal, demographic and insurance information.

Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow.

Accurately collect, document, and manage patient information including medical history and treatments as required by medical staff.

Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures as directed by medical personnel.

Answer patient inquiries, address concerns, and provide instructions to patients as directed by medical personnel.

Support the billing process by verifying insurance coverage, processing payments, and working with insurance companies to ensure claims are processed correctly.

Ensuring confidentiality of all patient records in accordance with hospital policies and HIPAA guidelines.

This position is Monday - Friday from 2 pm - 10:30 pm, with rotating weekends. We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K and tuition reimbursement.Requirements

Proven experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an Emergency Department.

Strong customer service skills with a dedication to providing a positive patient experience.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Solid data entry and computer skills, with proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance companies is a plus.

Must have flexibility for a variety of shift times, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to remain professional and courteous, even in stressful situations.

Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare industry privacy requirements.
