Job Title: Mechanical AssemblerJob DescriptionReads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.Responsibilities
Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
May install multi-level subassemblies and modules into racks using complex configurations.
Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as wiring servers and mechanical assembly.
Performs online go-no-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
Sets up station with the correct documents and components per assembly drawing.
Handles and installs polarized and non-polarized components on designated locations on the product.
Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics.
Assists in performing repair work.
Communicates any process problems with peers, leads, supervisors, and/or engineers.
Performs preventative maintenance on production line equipment.
Essential Skills
Proficient in using torque screwdrivers and small hand tools.
Ability to lift up to 10 lbs consistently.
Capable of performing work on a 50-inch elevated platform, two-step ladder, or a 9-step ladder.
Ability to operate a pallet jack.
Experience in electromechanical assembly preferred.
Ability to follow wire diagrams to perform assembly work.
Attention to detail.
Good computer skills.
Ability to assemble complex units by wiring and connecting different sub-assemblies and nodes into large rack systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in assisting, instructing, and qualifying new operators.
