Visiting Scientist - A.RJob ID5926LocationSLAC - Menlo Park, CATemporarySLAC Job PostingsThe Visiting Scientist will join the NEH CO2 cooling project which aims to design and build 3kW cooling plant for the Detector cameras of the LCLSII-HE program. Over the duration of their stay, they will participate in the design and experimental testing of the individual evaporators of the cameras. In the first weeks they will apply the two-phase flow model to define the evaporator inner diameter and length based on the cooling requirement. Following this phase, they will design a basic experimental test stand to measure heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops for various configurations and compare the results with the theory.
